Trolley-furnace acceptance should match records to the agreed structure, movements, safety, temperature control, uniformity, loaded operation and delivery responsibilities, then check whether the actual results meet the agreed requirements. Address incomplete or failed items and limitations separately; a complete set of documents does not establish acceptance. Demonstrating that the furnace heats up is insufficient. The contract, technical agreement, supply list and acceptance plan define the work; test conditions and criteria vary by project.
A Suneng variable-capacity trolley-furnace proposal lists furnace-temperature points separately from workpiece-temperature points. When receiving a temperature curve, identify the connected measurement point and test run before deciding whether it describes furnace control or workpiece heating. If the loading and point relationship is missing, request a channel list, point layout and common batch identifier. A smooth curve alone cannot establish completion of all acceptance checks.
One Suneng proposal describes factory pre-acceptance, site installation, individual and integrated commissioning, empty and loaded trials, training and documents. Other projects may use different stages and sequences. The engineering team groups procurement checks into seven levels below; this framework helps prepare a project checklist and does not replace the contract or applicable standards.
1. Acceptance basis: freeze document versions
Confirm the versions and precedence of the contract and technical agreement; supply list and inclusions/exclusions; general arrangement, foundations and utility conditions; test items, states, methods and criteria; instruments, sensors and recorders; and deviation, correction, retest and signature procedures.
Identify applicable standard versions and clauses in the agreement. Relevant categories can include manufacturing, temperature measurement, electrical safety and, where applicable, fuel safety and emissions. This article does not prescribe one universal set of standard numbers for every trolley furnace. Workpiece, loading, temperature, curve, energy, controls and site conditions determine the checklist.
2. Manufacturing and assembly: compare the equipment with the approved design
Check the body, lining, door, trolley and drive against the drawings; rails, limits, seals and mechanisms for intended operation; heating, circulation, temperature controls and cabinet completeness; nameplates, instruments, major components and safety parts against the list; welding, insulation, seals, finish and maintenance access; and supplied spares, special tools and accessories.
Where required, review material certificates, bought-in component documents and manufacturing records. Appearance alone does not establish structural, configuration or document conformity.
3. Movements and interlocks: include abnormal conditions
Test the agreed sequence for trolley travel, door movement, sealing, fans and heating or combustion permissives. Verify normal start, stop and reset; direction, limits and mutual interlocks; fan/heating/door permissives; overtemperature, thermocouple-break and emergency-stop protection; power-loss, restoration and interruption states; and traceable alarms, trends and operating records.
Record the tests. One successful normal movement does not prove the fault logic. Gas-fired versions also need their specified purge, ignition, pressure, rapid shutoff, flame-supervision and combustion-fan checks. Electric versions require their specified heating circuits, overtemperature protection, earthing and insulation checks. The two heat sources should not share an inappropriate generic combustion checklist.
4. Empty-furnace control: examine the curve
Define the test temperature and program, empty or other agreed condition, zone controls and records, stabilisation and observation period, alarm and overshoot recording, evaluation and retest conditions.
The test checks heating, zones, displays, trends and operation in the agreed state. A single endpoint screenshot cannot replace complete heating and holding curves. This section locates the empty-furnace test within whole-equipment acceptance; the factory-test plan should detail the relevant manufacturing, interlock and pre-dispatch checks.
5. Temperature uniformity: a deviation number needs context
There is no single uniformity value for all trolley furnaces. Bind the result to the effective working zone, test temperatures, no-load or loaded state, point number and arrangement, stabilisation, measurement/recording/calculation method, instrument and sensor condition, and pass/retest rules.
Suneng can support contracted uniformity tests and control-system accuracy checks. Metrological calibration or third-party certification requires appropriately qualified organisations. Factory-stage testing does not automatically replace installed-site acceptance. The project-specific uniformity plan should define point positions, quantities and calculations.
6. Loaded trials: verify the agreed duty
If included, use confirmed workpieces or an equivalent load, fixtures, layout, curve and recording method. Check trolley loading and travel; loaded heating, holding and zone records; stable doors, seals, circulation and heat source; handling cycle, transfer and unloading against production arrangements; and who performs workpiece temperature measurement or product inspection and by which method.
Meeting furnace-temperature criteria does not automatically establish every hardness, microstructure or distortion result. Material condition, prior processing, loading, transfer, cooling and inspection also affect the product. Define those responsibilities in the technical agreement.
7. Site handover: factory acceptance is not the end
After delivery, check foundations, rails, crane and access, water/electricity/gas/exhaust interfaces and installed individual and integrated operation. Handover should address installation and commissioning records; operation, maintenance and abnormal-condition training; assembly, electrical and layout/foundation drawings; manuals; supply, wear-part and spare-part lists; and remaining issues, owners, deadlines, retests and closure evidence.
Document types and quantities vary by project. One proposal's document package is not a default specification for every furnace.

Common questions
Does passing empty-furnace heating complete acceptance?
No. It covers only part of the agreed control and operation checks, not all interlocks, uniformity, loaded trials, installation and documents.
Why test again after factory pre-acceptance?
Transport, installation, foundations, rails and actual utilities can change the state. Verify installed interfaces, movements and the contracted site tests.
Should uniformity be tested at the factory or on site?
Follow the technical agreement. Factory verification may establish an agreed pre-dispatch state; the site retest requirement depends on the installed conditions and contracted boundary.
Does a receipt or signature prove performance?
It proves the receipt or approval stated in that document, not automatically uniformity, energy use, life or every process property.
Prepare before acceptance
Bring the confirmed agreement and plan, the seven-level checklist, temperature-point layout, agreed load and fixtures, measuring and recording instruments, training plan and open-issue list. Define state, criteria, records and retest responsibility for each item in advance.
