Multi-furnace Quenching Cell with Shared Manipulator | Discussion Checklist Provide available information; unknown items may remain blank. 1. Workpieces and process Grade, incoming condition, representative shape/section, target properties and adopted specification. Heating/soaking requirements; quenching medium and use conditions; transfer-timing start/end and permitted time. Whether post-quench tempering is required, allowable delay and downstream interfaces. 2. Furnace group and discharge windows New build or retrofit; existing furnace count/types, door locations, loading heights and opening clearances. Each furnace's cycle, batch mass, shifts, discharge window and whether staggered discharge is permitted. Existing temperature-control, door and control-interface documents. 3. Trays and manipulator Total workpiece, tray and tooling mass and centre of gravity; tray shape and hot distortion. Fork clearance, supports/location, pickup/set-down positions, rail travel and lifting height. Existing manipulator information or proposed shared-equipment scope. 4. Quenching and site Tank count, medium, operating conditions, immersion/removal method and tank occupancy. Circulation, agitation, heat exchange, exhaust and other utilities. Building layout, travel aisles, segregation zones, service space and abnormal-load parking positions. 5. Targets and delivery Conforming output, representative batches, effective production time and changeover frequency. Equipment supply, existing-equipment interfaces, foundations, utilities and site-work responsibilities. Representative-load and scheduling-conflict validation; equipment and product inspection items. Calculate shared-cell capacity from the complete cycle and schedule; do not simply add individual furnace ratings. This checklist supports preliminary discussion, not equipment-capability or transfer-time guarantees.
