Forging Residual-heat Quench-and-temper Line | Project Discussion Checklist Provide available information first. This supports equipment selection discussions; it is not a process-release document. 1. Workpiece: grade, adopted product specification, drawings, mass, effective section, section transitions and forging allowance. 2. Targets: hardness, microstructure, mechanical properties, decarburization/oxidation, cracks, dimensions and required sampling locations. 3. Forging: finish-forging temperature and measurement position, trimming/straightening sequence, temperature-check records, orientation and surface condition. 4. Timing: start/end definitions for finish forging, temperature checks, equalization, discharge and quench entry; normal, changeover and stoppage cycle records. 5. Route basis: validation of direct residual-heat quenching, material/microstructure windows, release/segregation criteria and whether reheating is permitted. 6. Quenching: medium, permitted temperature, circulation/heat exchange, entry orientation, gripping tooling, maximum instantaneous load and interval. 7. Tempering: permitted post-quench delay, temperature and soaking schedule, loading, final cooling and inspection. 8. Abnormal parts: segregation locations, review and production-recovery arrangements for cold, out-of-window or undocumented parts. 9. Capacity: representative parts, parts/hour or kg/hour, effective shifts, product mix and changeover frequency. 10. Site: forging handover location, space, logistics/service aisles, energy, cooling, exhaust and foundations. 11. Energy comparison: original route, effective output/yield, start/stop conditions and energy-metering points. 12. Contact: company, person and phone/WeChat/email. Surface temperature or visible redness does not replace microstructure and representative-section validation. Segregate and review out-of-window parts first; reheating does not automatically restore direct-quenching eligibility.
